SCOPE — What we cover

What we work on

We help teams own their infrastructure instead of renting it from someone else's cloud. Our consultancy is Linux-first and self-hosting-native: we design, build, and harden systems that run on hardware you control, orchestrated with Docker or Podman, fronted by a properly configured edge, and observable enough that you sleep through the night.

This is not slide-deck advice. The stack we recommend is the stack we run ourselves — Linux hosts defined in code, containerised services behind a Traefik edge, centralised logs, metrics, and alerting. If we would not operate it, we will not recommend it.

    Infrastructure and network design

    Servers, storage, and networking planned as one system rather than three accidents. Segmented networks with sensible firewall rules, DNS that resolves internally as well as publicly, TLS terminated consistently at the edge, and container workloads you can rebuild from a definition. From a single rack in the comms room to a small fleet spread across sites.

    Systems integration

    Getting your line-of-business systems to talk to each other: quoting, invoicing, inventory, and reporting flowing between tools instead of being re-keyed by hand. We build the adapters, APIs, and scheduled jobs that hold it together — with logging and alerting, so a failed sync is a five-minute fix rather than a month-end surprise.

    Security posture review

    A practical hardening pass over what you already run, ranked by the risks that actually threaten a regional business. Least-privilege access, patch and backup discipline with tested restores, secrets stored and rotated properly, and network segmentation that limits the blast radius when something does get in. You get an honest risk register, not a checkbox audit.

    Cloud and on-prem strategy

    Which workloads belong where, and why. We default to self-hosted where it gives you control, data custody, and predictable cost, and we use cloud services where they genuinely earn their keep. The output is a documented strategy with an exit path for every external dependency, so no vendor decision becomes a one-way door.

    Managed-support advisory

    Advice for teams that run their own gear — or are deciding whether they should. Observability done properly: centralised logs, metrics, and alerting that reaches the right person at the right time. Runbooks, capacity planning, and escalation paths your staff can actually follow. If you already use a managed service provider, we will review their work and hold them to it.

Engagements are fixed-scope where possible and always fixed-intent: you know what you are getting, what it costs, and what done looks like before we start.
